She’s always wondered about unreliable narrators. Do they think they’re unreliable? Do they believe in what they say? It feels like a trick when you’re reading a book and halfway through, you find out that the narrator is actually insane. Or dead. Or both.

A cheap device, surely meant to shock and keep the reader on his toes, but she sees it almost as a betrayal of sorts. It makes her not trust books as much, but then again, what narrator is ever completely reliable?
